The ring

a poem by Marcia E. Schechinger, USA

Unyielding is the golden ring
forsaking all to a distant past
Transformation in my heart does weave
a bond of love when we met at last

Sweetened by the test of time
anticipating for the taste of warmth
Succulence steams for you are mine
a band that melts hearts final storm

Singing praise in each word we vow
as you cleanse a soul once inferno blessed
Glowing in the here and now
I wait no more for true loves test

At last you kissed my troubled breath
to heal scourged lips forever
Wishing time would stop for this caress
in the sanctity we pledged together

Now I weep and scream no more
as we lay softly intertwined
In the safety that mends hearts torn
we bid the world a love's goodnight
