Sleep

a poem by Melyssa G. Sprott, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

I see no cause to remain awake.
For, while I breathe, my peace you take.
And as you smile, my heart you break.
With each cold glance, new torment you make.
So, why should I wish to remain awake
when I can sleep and this life forsake?

I see no cause to remain awake.
For, while I breathe, my peace you take.
And as you smile, my heart you break.
With each cold glance, new torment you make.
So, why should I wish to remain awake
when I can sleep and this life forsake?
