a poem by Melyssa G. Sprott, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

Somewhere south of heaven
dark angels sing to me.
My heart will eternally mourn him,
what sorrow is this to be?

He wanders through the valleys
of the shadows in my soul.
He’s taking back all the pieces
he once gave to make me whole.

Morbidly I’m tortured
by the harsh words he always says
I thought I had experienced pain,
but only love can hurt this way.
