a poem by Lila Joseph, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

Hark fairy pipes this virgin morn
when over the marshes their haunting song
comes to me on misty wings of
forgotten dreams and age old songs

Weave for me a fantasy land
of mountains shrouded in crystal tears
of kings and queens at rainbow's end
where coin of happiness ne’er is spent

Take my hand and close my eyes
to Helicon’s harsh and golden light
come wind me gently in silver swathes
of dancing dreams and lover’s swoons

Oh gentle Pan with fairy’s breath
that calls me soft to forgotten realms
bind me here in chains of songs
pure silver chimes chill budding morn

Let me wile in lands not real
that live unseen in the open field
a threshold forged twixt heaven and hell
where hate and pain no longer dwell

Reveal to me that secret cave
where wishes fly on angel’s wings
to rest as wisps of Admiral's blue
on sunflower face of golden hue
