The Other

a poem by Lila Joseph, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

In this dark and barren
corner of my mind
I am alone
with a being
formed of my own
fears and insecurities

No illumination disturbs the
bareness of this scene
there are no illusions
behind which I can hide
my motives true or false.

I stand naked
before the x-ray eyes
of my self-knowledge.

A blush of dust is a complex
A microcosm of life,
In retrospect
I am dust in the eyes
Of the Creator
