SINCE TIME BEGAN

a poem by Gail P. Kay, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

Down through the ages since time began
The wind carries the sound of women
Weeping for their men.
Called to fight and called to die
The wind forever carries the sigh
Of love, lost, and gone,
And left alone
I hear it moan
As it whips and whirls
through this my time
without reason and without rhyme.
And hearts once filled with love and lust
Move on ’til they too are as dust.
And still the wind carries all,
unseen, unknown,
Until time doth end,
The sound of women
Weeping for their men.
