I've never seen the clouds
quite this dense before
an entirely different shade of gray
that rumbles and shakes
although not disturbing
the color mirrors that of the painted porch
I dwell on
awaited rain, inhaling nicotine
purple flashes of intensity
somehow today put a smile on my face
I no longer feel afraid
if the lightening bolt shall strike me
while watching for my love to return, comfort
so slowly the clouds relocate
wind quickens, leaving only the sound
November leaves anticipate
their fate of gravity
to be crushed under feet
slow motion of earth's rotation
I hope doesn't take my storm
before I finish capturing the solace
enjoying the sanctity
of mother natures offerings
on my pleasant November evening
