Two Poems from our Fall Poetry Collection

THE SNOW

Author: Mithun Raj

Poem:
THE SNOW

Clouds kissing the crests
At vicinity, it's sea that flags surrender
Far off sight, remains an unbeaten battle,
Not colonialism but still occupied.

Heavy floods, but no havoc,
stands a statue, beauty posing at the nature
Anxious white face bordered with jewels
The days count, it shines and also dies down.

Blood flow a snail, it is chilling-cold
and as cold as Mother Earth is
Every peak mimic the lustre of stars in the night
Every glitter on the shadow on tops speaks love of the daylight.

Weeping willow

Author: Ashley Ferro

Poem: Weeping willow

Weeping willow
So full of life
Although your branches
Hang slumped over
Mystery hides underneath
The things that no one can see
Sitting underneath your limbs
Of such beauty and secluded shadows
Watching as the wind blows through
Breeze lightly kissing my face
Sitting upon your roots
Ancestry buried underneath my body
No one can find me here
I am hidden amongst your shadows
Of such wonder and mystery.
