Two Poems from our Fall Poetry Collection

Autumn

Author: Michael Lepretre

Poem:
Autumn

  Acorns fall,
The leaves turn red.
I notice this all
while I am in bed.

Kids play in leaf piles,
like they just don't care.
And autumn's chill
is in the air.

Leaves are falling,
yards are raked.
And fresh apple pies
are being baked.

To me autumn is the greatest
time of the year.
It is full of laughs
and good cheer.

Season of Lost Pilots

Author: Nathaniel Krause

Poem: Season of Lost Pilots

Shrapnel leaves fall
Like misguided pilots
On a mistaken course

Singing low, warm hymns
Spinning,
Aching toward earth

Leaves fall like lost pilots
Giving up
