Two Poems from our Fall Poetry Collection

FALL'S CREST

Author: Edmond Neville

Poem:
FALL'S CREST

  Dark dim dangled leaves portend
that the summer breezes have come
to an end.
Chills that seem almost like a change
to the earth have come.
What lay behind is beneath us, but
what is to come is a greater puzzle.

AUTUMN BRINGS

Author: Anita Harris

Poem: AUTUMN BRINGS

While walking in the early morning misty sunrise
And feeling the cool morning breeze
I see the glistening shimmer of dewdrops
That sends sparkling reflections off the trees.
The wind blows the leaves from the trees
Like rain pellets, they fall to the ground
The colors of Fall are everywhere
Yellow, red, orange,and golden brown.
The wind feels crisp upon my skin
And yet whips my hair into disaray
The jack-o-lanterns smile and show their teeth
The children and leaves beckon,"Come and play!"
When the darkening shadows of night fall
And your close by that crackling fire
Bring out the mugs of steaming hot cider
Then with friends and family you can conspire!
