Two Poems from our Family Poetry Collection

A Real Virtue

Author: Sarahjane Bennett

Poem:
A Real Virtue

Lost in a swirl of others who are lost, blaming their neighbor-seeking the stableness they believe that neighbor dances upon.
Conviced that they are drowned out by their search for individuality.

Surfacing into an invisible bubble of their future world. A world so complicated, yet so sought for. A world so dazzling it casts your heart's true wants into its lime light. A world that seems so perfect, that you are conviced you are diving upward, but in reality you are tumbling down hill as your safe past fades into the distance.

A world that poisons your nervous system into lying to your brain. Telling your brain that your heart is bliss.

But your heart is aching for home soil, of home and the life you WERE emersed in - the life you wasted trying to surface into the world that causes your nerves to lie.

Patience is not a virtue, home is.

My Three Brothers and Me

Author: Terri Baumann

Poem: My Three Brothers and Me

I have never had a sister
Just my Three brothers and me, The only girl in generations
Counting back about three.

My oldest is a minister
he works for God each day
My twin is a preacher
He does the same a different way

My youngest is an evangalist Traveling to spread God's mystery,
Not me, the only girl
I have taken a different history.

What I do is still a calling
that others aren't meant to do,
I help the dying cross over so
I suppose thats a ministry too.

If I had a sister, I wonder
what she'd grow to be,
I'd just have been happy for
her to be a sister to me.

So now you met my family and what
all in this life we do,
Read my poems and respond
To tell me all about you.
