Your pretend pretty world was all there was, floating dangerously on a breeze from never. I was happy, yet oblivious, just because I was yours and so much smaller. At night I watched the headlights pass- my beds grew but the world became no larger cradled (or trapped?) in your safety glass Thanks, but no thanks, mom and dad- balance is all too easily achieved when one side is all you see or need. A veneer, despite perfection, is still a facade. Even though you made life, you still can't play God. I'm finding it hard to doggy paddle- you never let me see the water. You cant hide the world from me any longer.
