Two Poems from our Friendship, Best Friend, Friend Poetry Collection

Infatuation Above

Author: Carissa Stanley

Poem:
Infatuation Above

I still sit here pondering to myself,
I do it time to time this state of mind.
I look up to see the wonderous clouds.
Here, I have the time to sit and unwind.
Yet, staring above soothes my inner soul,
A heavely place where I can be free.
Why can't I be free, just as the clouds are?
Clouds...silently hovering over me.
But no, I'm here imprisoned, but tranquil.
Sitting here without a care in this world,
Regaining all my thoughts, a place for that.
Lying here watching clouds begin to whirl.
The solace and solitude that I feel,
Comes from my infatuation above.

The Worn-Down Road

Author: rachael curry

Poem: The Worn-Down Road

Well it's nearly been a year now
Since my life first began
The day that I found my true love
And my one and only true friend
We've had some really good times
And she's shown me the meaning of love
She's filled the gap in my heart
That I never thought anyone could fill up
She was the best thing to happen to me
And I had never thought of the worst
We just began to fight alot
I just never imagined she'd cause this hurt
With every passing day
The fighting would never cease
Things just started getting rough
And we both needed a release
It's just so sad to me
Because then we went our seperate ways
We had to split our hearts apart
With nothing more to say
We've been through ups and downs
But leaving her forvever hurt the most
My hopes and dreams were shattered
When I made a final walk down the worn road
