Two Poems from our Funerals Poetry Collection

Our Reunion in Heaven

Author: Gabriele Embry

Poem:
Our Reunion in Heaven

This poem is dedicated to all the families who have lost a loved one:

We weren't prepared that day,
When God called you away.
So many tears we cried,
Longing to keep you at our side.

How we loved and missed you so,
And weren't ready to let you go,
But it gives us comfort to know,
Within the twinkling of our eyes,
You entered into paradise.

A place with beauty beyond measure,
Eternal happiness and treasure,
Where you have no more pain or tears,
Nor sorrow, worries, and fears.

Although, for now, we are apart,
Your precious memories live in our heart,
Until God calls us each to heaven's door,
Where we'll be reunited, forever more.

Song Of Death

Author: Tiema Muindi

Poem: Song Of Death

Men have fought battles at night
Others have dug trenches to hide
Women and children ran to the hills
For each one of them a way to be a live
To each one from you the reason to die .

Two rivers away came the screams
One more is gone , many other to follow
It was not a dream , that one we know
You had visited the village
To claim another life .

You have no shadow that we could track
You have no relatives that we could tell
If you had eyes
Sufferings of the oprphans
Would move you to tears
Cries of the widows
Would push you to a stop
The village witch would curse you to life
That we may see
What like is your nature .
