WAYNE THORNTON (Dec)

Author: Lee Emmett

Poem:
WAYNE THORNTON (Dec)

  Wayne Thornton played
hockey for Australia
and was a great team man
who never contemplated failure

at his funeral today
all spoke of him with love
generosity and patience
in relationships he gave

he was a wonderful coach
in sport, work and life
greatly admired by so many
family, friends, son, wife

Fate's Stars

Author: Linda Terrell

Poem: Fate's Stars

You my friend,
As children our paths nare cross,
As teens we ventured among the crowd.

Suddenly in my sight,
As an up-lifting gleeming, star light.
You came to me.

At times, I thought you to be rude and crude,
But in your eyes a light I seen, so shrude.

I projected my elusion,
Silently left open to you my heart,
Time, allowed our mutual willing start.

You day by day,
my best boy friend,
My heart,
my love,
to you I willingly lend.

You gave it back and more,
We didn't know or care,
To see what could lay at furtue's door,

Days gone by.........
Many nights alone I cry,
I recall so well,
That summer day in love we fell.

Years of friendship blossoming too,
My love captured,
Deep within just for you.

Now......again Days gone by,

I see you in their eyes day my day,
They too capture my heart,
Steal it away as they grow.

Your eyes they have,
With that special glow,
They too miss you so.

For we,
The ones you left behind,
Together venture through this life,
Making each day a new start,
That you are no longer a part.

You, my love,
my long time companion,
My lost friend,
Which ever lone star, you dance upon tonight.
Which ever cloud you drift on afar.
Where ever the wind carries your Spirit.
You rest lighty,
Still in my heart,
For there,
Even through death we shall never part.
