There she lay silent and still,
Her death was a mistake.
He stabbed her many times,
Then threw her body into the lake.
Satisfied with the task he'd performed,
He'd stopped to look in the sky at the sun.
Stunned as he stepped out of the office that day,
Only to find that he had killed the wrong one.
Here she lay now,
A dozen roses clutched in her hands.
Why she had to die this way,
No one quite understands.
We pay our respect,
The tears of pain crash to the floor.
What once was alive as can be,
Will now be alive no more.
Time has passed,
But the thoughts still remain.
My life has changed so much,
It will never be the same.
A dozen roses in a vase on my desk,
Once a lovely sight to see.
Blackened by the passing time,
Are now as dead as she.
