Two Poems from our Funny Poetry Collection

THE PERFECT MATE

Author: Jacinta Ramayah

Poem:
THE PERFECT MATE

  Her guy, she declared, should be tall,
with broad shoulders for her to cry on,
He should be good-looking and funny
but with other girls, shy and withdrawn.

No childish tantrums and cold looks,
He should be even-tempered and mild,
With her mum, so loving and kind but
with muggers he’d be strong and wild.

A great smoocher he should be and
if he’s an adept dancer it’d be a plus,
And if she did spend much of his money,
he wouldn’t dream of making a fuss.

When she thinks she has got him
And thanks her lucky fate,
He turns to look at her and say,
“You are not my perfect mate”.

If Santa Was A Woman

Author: Deanna Dilley

Poem: If Santa Was A Woman

If Santa was a woman,
I bet that red suit would be more attractive.
Holly and Ivy would crown her head.
Christmas trees would be short enough
for a woman to place that star or angel without a ladder.

If Santa was a woman,
she'd know to make all ornaments shatter proof
You'd receive the gifts you wish for;
and not the one's everyone else believe you should have.

If Santa was a woman, candles would always shine;
yet they'd never start fires.
Kitchens would smell of cinnamon
and peppermint throughout the season.
Gingerbread houses would be the centerpiece of everyone's tables.

If Santa was a woman,
I wonder if she'd give teddy bears to each homeless child.
She'd visit hospitals and play her for the children.
She'd never deny anyone a gift.
She would be everyone's friend.

If Santa was a woman,
her sugarcane lips would touch every child's heart.
As children peer through their curtains
and look up in the sky;
no doubt they will be surprised
to see a woman driving that sleigh.

If Santa was a woman;
she would not shout,
but gently call each reigndeer by name.
Now don't you fear,
for you still will hear the famous words;
Dash Away! Dash Away! Dash Away All!
Merry Christmas from St. Nicole!
