THREE DIS-GRACES

Author: Lee Emmett

Poem:
THREE DIS-GRACES

  lackadaisical is Lily
sentimental and silly
dives in water chilly
in lacy costume frilly

whimsical is Sally
wins quiz show on telly
loves cheeses blue-smelly
hunger always gnaws belly

fantastical is Phyllis
arms mass of amaryllis
after surfeit of dinner bilious
with tales of yore will fill us

Said The Spider To The Fly

Author: Susan Attanasio

Poem: Said The Spider To The Fly

Come closer, my dear
Said the spider to the fly
So I can whisper to you
It’s a good day to die.

The sun has been shining
For hours and hours
It’s burning the grass
And wilting the flowers

My web’s perfect circle
Such a beautiful sight
Draw closer and see
Come share my delight

The dry air is clear
The sky, azure blue
Come closer to me, sir
Observe what I do.

See my web glisten
In summers sun light
It shimmers and sparkles
Come be dinner tonight.
