Two Poems from our Graduations Poetry Collection

SENIORS

Author: Dylan Korn

Poem:
SENIORS

These last twelve years have come and gone so fast
When it feels like yesterday it began
In a few months we’ll leave behind our past
And start a new life all over again
We’ll leave our friends and family behind
To embark on a new challenge in life
With hopes our new friends will be just as kind
And college life will not be full of strife
As that faithful night in June comes nearer
Everyone is counting down day by day
They stand with cap and gown in the mirror
And realize they have made it all this way
But life goes on and we’ll have each other
In our hearts, our minds, and every summer

THE TIME HAS COME

Author: Jacqueline Castillo

Poem: THE TIME HAS COME

I never thought it would be time for us to pack our things and move on. The time we shared had just begun and our friendship had more to pass on. We've known each other for more than 3 years and now I'm standing here trying to fight my tears.

It's so unfair, it can't be true, I can't believe I'm hearing this from you. I'm so blue 'cause all those things we went through came to an end so soon. My friend what can I do? I don't want this so come between you and me. I don't want to go, I don't want to leave, I can't believe this is happening to me.

Life is already unfair and now I have to go through it alone. How difficult it will be now that life has parted you from me.
