CLASS OF 2004

Author: Joseph Buchanan

Poem:
CLASS OF 2004

  Preparation is done, now it’s time to go;
The four years spent here, seemed so slow.
But now it’s here, the challenge we’ll try;
One last tear, one last cry!

It’s hard to move on, and leave everything behind;
I wish life were a tape, so I could rewind.
Change the past, and live in the new;
Anything you want, it’s up to you!

This is the start, a new beginning is near;
Try to be strong, and show no fear.
Keep on the right path, give it your best;
In the end you’ll ace your final test!

Try to be bold, and try to be brave;
Many years of school we gave.
Now it’s your choice, it’s all up to you;
Will you attend college, and carry through?

Invent something great, find something new;
Figure out if, a mystery is true.
Travel the world, discover the Earth;
Carry the newborns, out at birth!

Play a sport, become an all-star;
Drive around, in a brand new car.
Get a job that pays really great;
Take out your spouse, on a date!

Find your career, however you like;
Join a union, and avoid a strike.
Save someone’s life, become a king;
Impress the world, on how you sing!

Join the military, and do something good;
Live in a place, with a great neighborhood.
Now it’s time to graduate;
To see you again, I cannot wait!

Some of us will change, some will move away;
Some we’ll meet each other, on a distant day.
Until that day comes, keep asking for more;
No one can beat the class, of 2004!

MY ONLY SUNSHINE

Author: Tammy Natoli

Poem: MY ONLY SUNSHINE

It really doesn't seem possible to me,
that you will be on your own
It seems like only yesterday, the day that you were born
The day's of diapers and formula
are memories of the past
My "Sunshine", my only son, you have grown so fast.

The day's of kindergarden and fingerpaints,
are over for "me and you"
Now it's muscle cars and kissing girls,
that you would rather do.

No more "my baby", but always my son
No more singing "You Are My Sunshine"
No more afternoon naps, "mother and child"
No more kissing your Boo Boo's

It's off to college, and on your own
This day has come too fast
You'll alway's be "My Sunshine"
My future and my past.

Now hold up you head and move along
The world is within your grasp
You can go anywhere, be anything
Enjoy! Time Moves Too Fast!
