MY ONLY SUNSHINE

Author: Tammy Natoli

Poem:
MY ONLY SUNSHINE

It really doesn't seem possible to me,
that you will be on your own
It seems like only yesterday, the day that you were born
The day's of diapers and formula
are memories of the past
My "Sunshine", my only son, you have grown so fast.

The day's of kindergarden and fingerpaints,
are over for "me and you"
Now it's muscle cars and kissing girls,
that you would rather do.

No more "my baby", but always my son
No more singing "You Are My Sunshine"
No more afternoon naps, "mother and child"
No more kissing your Boo Boo's

It's off to college, and on your own
This day has come too fast
You'll alway's be "My Sunshine"
My future and my past.

Now hold up you head and move along
The world is within your grasp
You can go anywhere, be anything
Enjoy! Time Moves Too Fast!

2004

Author: Kasey Lewis

Poem: 2004

With the way you talk
The way you smile
The way your hair just automatically flips up
I feel my adoration for you

With your commitment to all
Your pureness of heart
The handsome beauty you possess
I feel your longing to love and to be loved

With your profound intelligence
Your desire to satisfy
The certain ways you go about things
I feel your inner growth

With the way you defend your belief
Your respect
The way you stand tall no matter the consequence
I feel the strong-minded man you have become

With the look of meaningful adoration in your eyes
The confidence in your grip
The purity of content in your tone
I feel truly loved in your arms

With the bright lights and a stage that isn't so immense anymore
The tears on the edge of eyes
The applause as you've waited your entire life to receive as you walk across
I, with many others will watch as your life really begins to unfold
