MY OTHER LIFE

Author: Beatrice Boyle

Poem:
MY OTHER LIFE

  My Other Life

I hurry through the crowd
That gathers in the doorway
Shaking hands with my adoring fans
On my opening night on Broadway
They clamor for my autograph
And try to grab a souvenir
The police are called to rescue me
My eyes are filled with fear

I’m whisked away to safer ground
My hair is all askew
My dress is torn…one earring lost
So this is fame…who knew?
They take me to my cottage
(Only cost 6 million five)
I’m shaking like a leaf
I’m lucky I’m alive!

My maid draws a bath for me
My butler, a glass of wine
The chef prepares a feast for me
Then I sit and dine
The satin sheets upon my bed
Invite me to relax
My every wish is granted
I’m being pampered to the max

But tomorrow is another day
My work still lies ahead
I’m awakened non too gently
By the jumping on my bed
“Wake up Mom, we’re late for school”
I heard the children scream
My other life was not to be
It was just a wishful dream!

Secret Garden

Author: Kristine Trudeau

Poem: Secret Garden

(A poem of passion and prayer)

There's a garden near, that's secret and hidden, I meet my Lover there.
The joys that we share, are lovely and fair, and never, no, never, forbidden.
My garden is green, and I rest near the stream, where my Lover sings songs so sweet.
My heart skips a beat, while I sit at His feet, hearing songs meant only for me.

My garden is hidden, in my soul, so forgiven; my Love bids me enter there.
His Name on my lips, feels much like a kiss, and sweeter than honey to me.
"Jesus," I whisper, "My Love, my Redeemer. I love you so much." Then I cry.
Strong arms enfold me, then He speaks so softly, "Meet me in the Garden, tonight."
