Two Poems from our Holidays Poetry Collection

So much time

Author: Fabiano Cipriani

Poem:
So much time

A day is so much time
That nobody can believe
Just a day is an Human life
Can represent all , A single day
Time Flies! Flies away!
A day spent is time
Time that never comes back

Never! Never comes back. That day!
That beautiful moment!
That moment of treasure!
This treasure is some hours,
Just the time of a day!
It’s so much time.

Now it’s over. The time!
So fast passed, So fast!
I cannot believe is already now!
Right now there is no that day anymore

Oh! That day!
How beautiful!
How beautiful it was!

A Fragrant Rose

Author: Mary Shovlin

Poem: A Fragrant Rose

(Written for Mother's Day, 2003 (UK)).

Mother, you have been with me all of my life
In everything you do, you show you care
From childhood to maturity, through all strife
I can always rely on you to be there

Through tears and tantrums, laughter and times of peace
Amidst bitter resentment, in times of war
You constantly forgive, you are a spring breeze
You are the peacemaker, that's what mums are for

I'd like to thank you for ev'rything you do
They make a difference, all the many little things
For conversation, companionship, advice too
The unconditional love that only a mother brings

I want to end this verse with a vote of love
A hug, a kiss and a bouquet of flowers
No greater love, surpassed only from above
Your rose's perfume permeates all bowers.
