Two Poems from our Holidays Poetry Collection

2005

Author: Kristin Gregoire

Poem:
2005

As I am facing my fear, it's the New Year; hoping all my troubles will disappear. It's 2005, I can't beleive I'm still alive. But how long will I survive? With all that I go through I'm hoping 2005 will be somthing new. Troubles I wish I just had a few. I want something in my future to look forword to. To me the world's been kinda cold. I already feel eighty, yet only twenty-two years old. For 2 years my life's been put on hold, I pray for better days to unfold. And a brighter story to be told. But life's a gamble you never know what you're going to get. Life is full of surprises I've got to admit, you could end up with a pile of gold just to find it really is'nt even a bit. So I'll tell you this legit, whatever you do; do it well and don't ever quit.

HAPPY NEW YEAR (RHYMING ACROSTIC)

Author: Regis Auffray

Poem: HAPPY NEW YEAR (RHYMING ACROSTIC)

Hopeful we are for two thousand and five
All of us are grateful to be alive
People now is the time for new resolutions
Problems abound but we can find solutions
Year end is a good time to sit back and reflect

No one is always right and none of us perfect
Everyone must learn to live side by side
Whoever you are or where you reside

Yes now is the time to celebrate life
Every heart praying for an end to strife
Auld Lang Syne is sung as the old year ends
Rejoice and be merry with foes and with friends
