Two Poems from our Horses Poetry Collection

WILD AT HEART

Author: Melissa Miller

Poem:
WILD AT HEART

Elgance, spritit, beauty. That's what I see in his
eyes feel in his heart and get from his stride.
Wild at heart, he floats by on invisable wings. Black mane flowing black tail held high his says to the world "Proud am I"
Wild at heart, though he's gentled by a soft
voice a kind hand not all the strenth in the land
can hold him back when freedom calls.
I dream of the day we'll never be apart. I remember the day, so cold, that we met our eyes locked, his beautifully untamed mane obcuring one eye. I won't give up on him lets hope his feels the same!
Galloping through meadows green you will see horse
and rider totally free. Joyfully I wonder how I ever lived without his warm breath on my shoulder.
But even though we remain strongly bonded he waches the leafs whirling by with fire in his eyes, pricks his ears at the slightest sound and never backs down, for he will always be wild at heart.

Horsey with Skinny Legs

Author: Linda Chew

Poem: Horsey with Skinny Legs

The horsey
with skinny legs
did whinny
flip up his tail
and began to shimmy
He long had been
put to digrace
when he dropped
out of first place.
You should have seen
the look on his face
It's those skinny legs
that had begun to bow
when horsey won
"best of show."
