A TRIBUTE TO SHOGUN LODGE

Farewell old Shogun, you showed us your heart, Racing will never be the same, you were second to none. You just kept on trying, and really did your part, You did what you did best, and that was to run.
On the way to the barrier he was always proud, Galloping out with a spring to his stride. Noise didn’t worry him and neither did a crowd, Always moved easy, looked a beauty to ride.
He raced against a lot of the greats, Lord Essex, Catbird and even Align. Became known as “Captain Courageous” to his mates, And he even came a close second to Sunline.
Always thundered down the straight with the greatest force, Blew straight past the others as if he could fly. For all that remember that brilliant horse, Why not now raise your glasses high.
Think of his spirit and make him the most, And send word of his life to the Gods. I urge you all to make a toast, To grand old Shogun Lodge.

A VALUABLE GEM |

Great horses are worth their weight in gold, Good horses are worth their weight in silver, But my horse is a valuable gem, Sometimes a little rough, Sometimes in need of polishing, But she means the world to me.
