Two Poems from our Horses Poetry Collection

IF I LIVED MY HORSE'S LIFE

Author: Jessica Lawson

Poem:
IF I LIVED MY HORSE'S LIFE

If I lived my horse's life,
Would I be happy,
Would I wish I could escape,
To be wild and free.
Will I wish for the sun to shine,
Or for it to storm
So that I won't be torn.
Torn away,
Away from my freedom,
Afraid of never knowing what it feels like to be wild,
Free to do God's will.
If I lived his life for just one day,
Would I be grateful,
Grateful for my home,
My hay.
Or would I wish I could just run away,
Away, just away,
Away from my home and my hay.
If I lived my horse's life,
Are these some thing I would say?

I RODE OVER

Author: Kelsey Prudhomme

Poem: I RODE OVER

I rode over the jumps.
I rode over the sky,
I rode over the clouds and the sea.
I rode over the meadow,
I rode over the moon,
I rode over the plains and the stars.
I rode over the river and
I rode over the lake and
I rode over the sun shining above!
