Two Poems from our Inspirational Poems, Motivational Poetry Collection

SIREN

Author: Christopher Harper

Poem:
SIREN

Alas! The siren sang to me,
And I beached my soul on her sun bleached tree.
I lay. Back arched, listening
to the rhythm of her mind, The sea.

With sky beneath and ocean above,
my hands in the water
my heart in my mouth.

Watched her rippling silk clothing
salt-fast hair in the wind.

As she slowly walked the surf south.

¡IT’S IN VERSE!

Author: Yolanda Forteza

Poem: ¡IT’S IN VERSE!

IN BLACK SPACE MY SOUL RISES,
A DARK SKY COVERS ME
SOLITARY PATH I WALK,
¡MERCY, MOTHER! I IMPLORE.
RELEGATE MY SOUL FROM BLAME
I NEED YOU TO SPILL A BALM
ALL MY WOUNDS FOR IT TO CURE,
CALMING ALSO, MY HARDSHIP…
I DON’T KNOW THAT CRUEL TO FEEL
TODAY COMES TORTURING ME
TO COLLAPSE INTO A GRIEF’S SEA
MY SOUL KEEPS CRYING DEEP IN.
DOWN YOUR MANTLE COVER ME,
ALL I AM, FROM HEAD TO FEET.

¡OH, GOOD MOTHER, HOLY MOTHER!
I DON’T REACH UPON TO GLIMPSE
WHY THE OPEN CHEST MOURNS FOR
WHY, OF SORROW, I’M IN DEATH,
AND HEART CAN’T STOP TO BLEED…
¿DO YOU KNOW, VIRGIN, THE CAUSE?
REASONS ARE FOR ME BEING HAPPY.
DEAREST ONES ARE CLOSE TO ME,
MORE THAN EVER, CARE MY SOUL
BROKEN IT’S A THOUSAND PIECES,
WHICH I FIND MOST HARD TO JOIN…

¡THANK YOU, MOTHER! IT’S CLEAR.

¡IT’S IN VERSE, I SHALL RETRACE!
ALL THE WAY ONCE I’VE WALKED
TO RECOVER ONE BY ONE,
ALL THE PIECES I LEFT GONE
OF MY SOUL THAT TO THE STEP
I ALLOWED THEM TO FORGET…
IN EACH VERSE, JOYFUL OR SAD,
BROKEN PIECES OF MY SOUL,
START GATHERING… ¡SLOW!
