TAKING FRUIT FROM A TREE

Author: David Bell

Poem:
TAKING FRUIT FROM A TREE

Have you ever got angry, or did something normally you wouldnt't do,
Based on something you heard, and just assumed it was true,

To find out later, you had been mislead, you had little notions, planted in you head,

The Bible tells us about this, In the very first book, The serpent did it to Eve,and thats all it took,

I wonder what she would think, or what she might say? If she knew woman were paying for it, still today?

I'm sure not judging, and don't want God to think that of me, It just seems we've did worse, than taking fruit from a tree,

But maybe there's a lesson here, that we can all learn today, Something we think won't hurt anyone, might hurt a long way,

So before we do something, and think "oh what harm can there be" think about who are still paying, " For taking fruit from a tree"

RAINBOWS

Author: Yelena Bosovik

Poem: RAINBOWS

The rain was pouring.
The sky was dark and stormy,
And the air felt heavy with dread and worry.
People dragged their feet on their way home.
A bird's joyous song silenced by the gloom.
Even the usually busy squirrels,
Were deep inside their hollow homes.

All of a sudden...lightening struck!
Then...complete silence.

Bit by bit the gray clouds dissolved,
And the sun slowly peeked out.
It seemed like it was checking if the coast was clear.

Suddenly,
All the faces turned towards the horizon.
The bird's joyous song could be heard again.
Even the squirrels emerged from their cozy homes.
Not understanding what was happening,
I lifted up my face towards the sky.
And the sudden beauty filled my insides down to my tippie-toes.
For there in front of me was God's symbol of everlasting love.
It showed the world that after gloom comes joy and light...
This was a symbol that every culture understands,
It was a rainbow.
