The rain was pouring. The sky was dark and stormy, And the air felt heavy with dread and worry. People dragged their feet on their way home. A bird's joyous song silenced by the gloom. Even the usually busy squirrels, Were deep inside their hollow homes.
All of a sudden...lightening struck! Then...complete silence.
Bit by bit the gray clouds dissolved, And the sun slowly peeked out. It seemed like it was checking if the coast was clear.
Suddenly, All the faces turned towards the horizon. The bird's joyous song could be heard again. Even the squirrels emerged from their cozy homes. Not understanding what was happening, I lifted up my face towards the sky. And the sudden beauty filled my insides down to my tippie-toes. For there in front of me was God's symbol of everlasting love. It showed the world that after gloom comes joy and light... This was a symbol that every culture understands, It was a rainbow.

God has different names Whether Krishna Christ or Mohammad But he is One who dwells in all And a life seeker in all ages Birds and animals know well Where they have to lay their heads But man the best creation of God Knows not where to lay his head Great warriors had vast empires But they could not rule the hearts of people For they possessed no Innert Glory And so were and are powerless being powerful Why not then learn To love and live together In peace and harmony And make this world a happy one ----Vijay Ghai
