END OF MY CYCLE

Author: Robert Varela

Poem:
END OF MY CYCLE

As I walked towards the end of my cycle in this life
I’ve come across many many people
And every encounter has been a valuable lesson
Each and everyone is now a wonderful memory.
Lots of people approached me for something that I could give
And I happily gave, no questions asked
Others I gave nothing to, because I wasn't being me.
Many people I’ve given my body to
And enjoyed the energy of a soul
Others I refused to touch
From a shallow point of view.
Few people I deeply cared for
And acknowledged their every gift
And both being appreciated was the greatest gift
Others I barely got to know, sometimes not at all
For being in a bubble of fear.
Selected people i loved and gave my all
They are so special to own a place in my heart
Others didn't love me in return
And my all was only ever, all mine.
On my journey to the end of my cycle
I’ve learnt to give
I’ve learnt to enjoy the human body
I’ve learn to appreciate good people
I’ve learnt to love so deeply.
On this journey, I met someone
And all the beautiful lessons I’ve learnt
Were naturally expressed to this one person.
If only I learnt one powerful lesson before we met,
If only I knew how to mend my broken heart.

THE WINDOW

Author: Joseph Josephides

Poem: THE WINDOW

Stretch your hand and open the window,

maybe a sunbeam drops in,
in a zigzag way, by reflection,
maybe a star, promising a change.

Open the window,

perhaps a person in rush drops a glance inside,
a beauty girl sprinkled by the rain,
a shallow mother which lost its baby.

Open the window,

maybe the ball of the children shows up
their voice perhaps climbs up
a bending branch, a kitten.

Open the window,

even if a wave of dust, of hail, invades,
a shadow or its shadow, two shadows in one,
or even a shadow shading another.

Open the window,

even if the city fell asleep,
even if the city passed away,
even if there is no sign which of the two.

Stretch your hand and open for us the window .

In its place there will be a painting
hanged, speechless staring at us.
At least it will fill our empty wall.
