REMEMBER

Author: Katie Bradshaw

Poem:
REMEMBER

  The night sits still

The sound of children playing Has fadded elsewhere

And the bustle of the city is calmed for now

Still my mind is restless

With A million words floating by

Time becomes so priceless now

After all that i have wasted

Not another day can i let slip away

Under the setting of the sun

With it's many hue's red's and blue's

Letting every moment last

I long to feel what I've deprived myself

The Long walks and cool breezes

LAughter in the morning, And rolling in the dirt

Eating chocolate ice cream and ruining a shirt

Taking time to notice the little things in life

Like humming birds on daphodilles

Snow angles in winter And spashing in the rain

Some how all these things were forgotten

And Covered up with pain

Too busy for sand castles and playing in the mud

Once these things were precious

I forgot the things I loved

The humming birds are silent now

I await their song once more

Longing for the melody i heard long before

NORTH BEACH (TENBY)

Author: Dave Shallish

Poem: NORTH BEACH (TENBY)

The sea is like a lion
On this winter windy day
Sweeping away your worries
With its roar and power
It protects with tidal talons

You are engaging with natures force
With its cruel beauty
With its unpredictable moody tides
You are in awe of strength
Breath in the salt filled air

You sense danger
But you are not afraid
You sense the driving cold
But you are not cold
You feel alive

The sea constantly wrestles with the hard rocks
Spitting their salty sand filled blood
High and then low over the wet dry canvas
As gulls shriek and the sea catches its breath
Prepares its next erosive attack

It is all inevitable
It is nature’s outer circle of life
Time passes in its simplicity
In it’s beauty, power and difference
Reassuring us, in its state of being
