NORTH BEACH (TENBY)

Author: Dave Shallish

Poem:
NORTH BEACH (TENBY)

The sea is like a lion
On this winter windy day
Sweeping away your worries
With its roar and power
It protects with tidal talons

You are engaging with natures force
With its cruel beauty
With its unpredictable moody tides
You are in awe of strength
Breath in the salt filled air

You sense danger
But you are not afraid
You sense the driving cold
But you are not cold
You feel alive

The sea constantly wrestles with the hard rocks
Spitting their salty sand filled blood
High and then low over the wet dry canvas
As gulls shriek and the sea catches its breath
Prepares its next erosive attack

It is all inevitable
It is nature’s outer circle of life
Time passes in its simplicity
In it’s beauty, power and difference
Reassuring us, in its state of being

WAITING FOR THE SUN TO SHINE

Author: Inas Moussa

Poem: WAITING FOR THE SUN TO SHINE

That night I heard the fairies whisper softly in my ears
That the time had come for them to try to wipe away my tears
With rays of light I saw them write some words I never knew
"Follow your heart towards the place where legends may come true"

I was the victim of the bars I found myself behind
And the dupe of the darkest shadows thrown upon my mind
They had to free me from the spells that made my eyes go blind
And guide me slowly towards the truth that I had to find

They seized my heart and grabbed my soul out into the night
And before my eyes I saw the stars dancing with their light
They flipped my hopes and tossed my dreams within the game of life
And the chance they threw I had to catch in order to survive

Then with a smile they went away, but left a lonely star
To remind me how my life had always seemed to be so far
Trapped within that mind of mine….
Waiting for the sun to shine!
