I have caught the blows that life can throw,
bruised my lips while kissing the sun-lit roses.
I have scarred my heels in pursuit of mountain-high dreams.
I was told to climb down, to give up, to face the inevitable defeat.
I pushed myself even when without air.
I breathed my last gasp and my eyes have shed their last tears.
I was told to stand down, accept the loss, beiieve that it was over.
Sure enough, I did lose.
But I still won.
