THE CONSEQUENCE OF FLIGHT

Author: Sona Bingley

Poem:
THE CONSEQUENCE OF FLIGHT

When I was a child about the age of four
I remember thoughts that I had stored from lives before
Dreams of great height above the earth, my soul would take flight
The earth would be beneath me and the light would guide me
No solid ground to stabilize my stance no piercing eyes, no judging tongues
Only in a thought in quick glance
For in my mind it had been awhile since I’ve been in the clouds above the sky, beyond the stars.
I’ve often dreamed of places unknown for God willing that is were I’m going
For you lose yourself in this world to find yourself in another
In a world with what every one finds when there is nothing left
When you are high above and you can see
You finally see, the truth ….
That’s the Consequence of flight.

HAS THERE

Author: Terrill Bradshaw

Poem: HAS THERE

Has there ever been a time when you could do no right?
And has there ever been a time when you couldn’t sleep at night?
Did you tell yourself that you just needed to stay strong,
or did you just give up and gave in before long?
Perhaps you kept faith in the good lord above,
and let him shield you with his arms forever made of love.
They say that the good lord shall not give us more than we can handle, but the torture we put ourselves through is an overwhelming scandal.
Faith the size of a mustard seed that’s what I recall,
but perhaps when times are hard we should remember that god loves us all.
Instead of being angry or wrapped up deep in hate,
we should try to scribe some goodness on our slate.
We are the lord’s vessels, we are his creations,
may we open our minds and our hearts to bring forth an inner piece and not give in to temptations.
The lamb shall walk next to the lion, and the lion shall walk next to man, lets open our hearts to Jesus, and let him take us by the hand.
Let the positive feelings rise up, and like a river they will flow,
for when we walk in faith there is no limit to the happiness that we can sew.
