MY LONG ROAD HOME

Author: John Reardon

Poem:
MY LONG ROAD HOME

Many roads I have traveled, many thoughts I have had,
Some have been good and some have been bad.
Many choices I've made in the face of temptation,
None easily made or without hesitation.
Though all seemed right at the time they were made,
I had no way to know that many were forbade.
At the time they were made I was the lamb that was lost,
Falling prey to the wolves I suffered great loss.
But as God has known since the begining of time,
Twas the way He would bring me to this destiny of mine.
He knew in the end His love would win out,
Bad thoughts in my mind He'd block them all out.
Though He knew I would stray but it would not be for long,
For He knew in the end I'd be singing His song.
He knew that His love was deep in my heart,
And He knew that we're friends and that we'd never part.
So with His love rekindled, burning deep in my soul,
My problems will dwindle He had made me whole.
And though I've no way to know what life will bring,
A glorious new song my heart will sing.
For God's love will win out over all of the rest,
His sights set high, He'll make me the best.
I've found my way back, I've finally come home,
ANd I hope and I pray, no more will I roam.

I AM WATCHING

Author: Terry Bankston

Poem: I AM WATCHING

I Am Watching
By Terry Bankston

I am watching from the Heavens with tear stained eyes for I see a world that has lost its way.

I see the future of the world before me and I am saddened.
I see mankind separated by more than the seas that distance them.
I see mankind's inability to accept each others differences, which only separates them further.
I am watching from the Heavens and I know.

I know you have lost your way and it grieves me.
You have such potential and yet, you stand so far apart from one another.
I know you can do better, if only you try.
Look at all that I have given you.

The fluttering of the butterfly that is guided by my breath,
Teardrops that fall from angels as they weep at what they see:
Majestic mountains that reach toward the heavens and their Creator;
Seas that stretch farther than the imagination of mankind.

Restore My dignity and fill My spirit once again - with hope.
Hope for a world that could be instead of a world that is.
Let your love and faith guide you in all that you do.
It can be done if only you try.

Can you hear what I am saying?
Can you see all that I have given you?
Can you believe in each other as you believe in Me?
Can you feel Me watching from the Heavens?

Though My vision is blurred by My tears - I am watching.
I will always be with you in the shadow at your side.
Have faith and I will guide you.
You must turn the world around and seek new destinations - I will help you.

Seek new destinations as you hold tight to your faith – in peace.
Seek new destinations in unity; a destination with vision of what can be,
Let your dreams soar with the wind to distant shores
Let your dreams unite and become one before Me.

I will be watching from the Heavens.
Believe in each other as you believe in Me

As I believe in you.
