And so will I, soon one day pass
What a shocking statement to make -
Like a clock without hands
Once young with endless future
Then never in my wildest dreams
Could I have ever imagined
That one day like tomorrow
I would appear to a youthful son
Out of date and quite old fashioned
Yet I should be thankful for my plight
With family and friends, no longer living
Suddenly torn out of my life
Without hint nor warning
God rest their weary souls
They lived their lives undaunted -
Sorry, but I too must leave you now
Like a dwindling flame in the cold night's wind
My days too grow shorter
Yet, what wondrous wisdom does life reveal
When one lives to become older
