Growing up is very challenging
Especially as a teen,
everything in me keeps changing
sometimes i wonder where it had been.
But then my liberty is grounded,
Sin is made out of my emotions,
Fears are raised and issues compounded,
Making me a prisoner for my emotions.
But then my worldly friends are free
To have some fun with their emotions.
In my heart I envy their spree
my mind drops with mental commotions
I love my God but I want to be free.
But then my conscience holds me bound.
Why would God tie me to a tree?
When the world takes her children round.
Today its AIDS,
tomorrow it's pregnancy,
STDs and STIs,
O! wretched Fantasy devoid of fancy
Oh! Lord My God I may not understand,
But I love the freedom I have in you.
I'll check my emotions in order to stand,
That I may reap the best in you.
When I grow up,I'll have my spouse.
My emotions will be poured on her/him.
I look forward to that blessed house.
where I'll be glad I waited for her/him. |

Who am I? Am I a jock? A sporty, jumpy jock That loves his gym sock? Am I a nerd? A weird techno-geek, That hasn’t showered for a week? Am I weird? A kid who picks his nose, And walks on his toes? Am I stupid? A kid that gets an F, On every test? Am I smart? A kid that gets an A, For every grade? Am I fat? A kid that waddles to class, And has a lot of gas? Am I thin? A human walking stick, As thin as a toothpick? I am me. Can’t you see? I like to swim. I like to hack. I pick my nose. I don’t like math. I get good grades. I eat every day. I love to run. I just have fun. Who am I? I am what I am, And I do what I can. THIS IS WHO I AM!
