I’ve penned a hundred today,
I think it is swell,
Who’d have guessed months ago
I’d come out of my shell.
Slowly the score increased as
my thoughts I versed
with fingers and thumbs ready
I clicked away, lips pursed.
Other have done a thousand more,
I take my hat off to them,
I know I’ll never make it, even if I
live to a hundred and ten.
I’m glad I discovered it by accident,
through this net I found,
a kindred spirit whose works I admire,
Lee, thanks for being around.
It is great to have people tell whether
I am up to mark,
I’d welcome the bad ones too,
without feedbacks, one’s stuck.
So, all you budding poets out there
get your lines down,
For who knows, one day, you may be
the toast of the town.
