just caught up with wonderful man
knows that he’s only got a short while
still learns, appreciates, walks out on jetty
smells the salt, feels the sun and smiles
he has inoperable aneurism, and life’s finite
every moment has its small measure of joy
tunes into the very finest wavelengths and
has found his own path, right from little boy
laugh, share news, talk of dreams, and avoid
moaning about shortcomings, disappointments
concentrate on things experiencing here and now
lets go of anger, he’s merry and has contentment
