Two Poems from our Inspirational Poems, Motivational Poetry Collection

To overcome

Author: Robert Miller

Poem:
To overcome

  I once knew this doggie
his name was Kegs,
he was a bit different
with only three legs.

Whenever he ran
you could see a slight hop,
and when going too fast
he couldn't stop.

Unlike the others
he couldn't give you his paw,
but he was the cutest doggie
that i ever saw.

Even with a leg missing
he was so happy,
because he no longer had to lift
his leg to pee.

He proved that in life
even with a disability,
that he could overcome
and live normally.

BUDDHIST MONK

Author: Lee Emmett

Poem: BUDDHIST MONK

compassionate monk has folded
Buddha inside golden heart
within an eight-petalled lotus
great loving-kindness sets apart
cultivates will and patience
as first impulse is to assist
generosity of spirit shows
with no opportunity missed
