Beloved cherub of heaven,
hazel eyes pierce my tempered soul;
disbelief and awe in this heart
fill a solemn, somber hole.
In the firmament like a god,
I created from my image
petite mind, body, and spirit
with more than a wink and a nod.
Whatever love and goodness dwelled
here in this lone, humble mortal
now flows from your toothless smile;
with muted tears, are these eyes swelled.
World-without-end you give my life;
unconditional and selfless
love you instill in my essence,
lifting my days, expelling their strife.
