There’s a distant cry, it’s a broken heart
There’s a fallen sky, it’s hell on earth.
There’s a sinful wish, it’s a human mind
A lifted soul, it’s hard to find.
There’s no light, so it’s midday
Here day begins when lights fade away.
There would be no sun
To shine some light-
Just burnt out our days
We are left with our nights.
Trusting our lives to sacred assassins
Those men who save are those that devour
Riding the world on chariots of blood
Embezzling our future at the altar of power.
I must not wait till I am spoilt
Till I am threatened to my core.
I must leave these pleasant shackles now
That chained me down to the floor.
Out on a journey to lend this voice
To the voices that are heard no more.
To wipe the past that seems to last
And paint a today they never had before.
If these eyes can make a thousand see
Let this man be the blinded one
I would then see a thousand lights
When these people would have seen none.
It may be soon that I may fail
And lose the faith they had in me
And there would be no justice made
To this odd dream I dared to see.
I’ll turn to my faith and take my leave
Till the day that I am no more
To bring to life the lives that can
Save the lives that are cast ashore.
