Two Poems from our Inspirational Poems, Motivational Poetry Collection

Can you hear my plea

Author: Bonnie Farnham

Poem:
Can you hear my plea

  I'm lost inside this body,
It looks like not who I am,
My secret is I'm a woman,
Trapped in the form of a man.

You truly can't imagine the feeling,
Nowhere do you fit in,
Slowly,'m being driven crazy,
I feel like I'm living a sin.

Always,I've been taunted,
shunned and misunderstood,
Don't you think I want to be like you?
I plead,if only I could.

I didn't ask to be like this.
I don't want to be me.
Please can't someone help me?
Can't you hear my plea?

A gift, not a burden

Author: Anu Arumugam

Poem: A gift, not a burden

A newborn opens its clueless eyes and joins its kind
Emotions and feelings are not yet familiar to its dim mind
It willingly cries and whines with all its might
It is young now and does not know wrong from right

The little baby slowly grows up and forms the shape of a beautiful, young girl
A girl who has not yet been informed of the dangers of this new, unforeseen world
A girl who does not know just what will happen when she reaches a certain age
An age where she will be treated like a lifeless puppet standing emptily on a stage

So the days pass by and the girl changes as well
Such strange feelings and emotions, why they are pestering her she cannot tell
But with the wise guidance of her mother and the jolly presence of her friends
She is still actively willing to make ends meet ends

Then the day comes when she will turn thirteen
No more childish jokes or pranks are to be seen
Now she will lead a life of her own
She will lead a more organized life to show how well she has grown

She has taken on the duty of carrying the family name with pride
It feels like a heavy burden, but to let go of this burden she cannot decide
Why must He be so cruel and so cold
And release this burden on the shoulders of all the women of the world

The days go on and she lives her life sadly and unwell
Then one day she meets another girl
A girl, like herself once, who did not know the dangers of the world
A young, beautiful girl who had still not yet been told

To see this little girl brought a memory so joyful to last a lifetime
Relapsing back into her faithful past when she was always in her prime
She now knew the secret of life and would carry it with a joyful drift
The secret was growing older was not to be thought of as a burden but instead as a gift
