There are so many things I have asked you for
I ask you to answer my prayers to open the door

I ask you to love me and to keep me safe
You ask me to stay in prayer keep the faith

From a little girl when my life was upside down
I did not know that you were there to give a smile and take the frown

I did not know that you wrapped your arms around me
When I was blinded by hurt and could not see

I did not know when I was being raped and in fear
That you could cover my heart and give me strength so I could bear

I did not know that you would choose my path in life
To build me up for your Glory I endured pain and strife

How you loved me, cared for me, tried to make me aware
The problems in life that I had to face and thought I couldn’t bare

Pain and suffering in my life that I have had to face
Not to my understanding but only by your grace

I fear the life I have day to day
I turn my eyes to you my God and start to pray

Give me strength to face and not to fear
Give me strength to see my way clear

Give me strength so that I maybe content
Where ever you have me is what is meant

I love you my Lord please clear my soul
Make of me what you will please make me whole

My spirit is pulled it is being torn
My strength is weak it is tired and worn

But I know the mercy the promise you gave
To take me through the way you will pave


All you aks of me is to give you my love
To praise you on high with the angels above

To walk and speak so you Son’s light might shine
To walk the roads of heaven that you said were mine
