Ecclesiastes inspired

Author: Medina Currie

Poem:
Ecclesiastes inspired

  Oh she’s enticing you deem
She’s inviting you to play away as she brushes by you run behind her
She’s carrying the sent of grandeur
She leads you to a place of thirst and sand with every step forward an increasing hunger for her hand
It’s allowed His eyes never blink it’s not perfect but permitted
And you think you see what you think you see a vision that leads you to believe but when you’re at the spot the indulging illusion drops
You got caught in lust failing to trust the Wind-maker
“I want to get out of here”
Something within led my eyes to stare at a sight of loveliness in the distance.
Lover not my lover this time for her illusive promise of indulgence fails to satisfy
She’s now in opposition as I oppose her direction she’s tearing my eyes
In fact, mind if I testify for a moment
I approach the sight my sight is drawn to with every step my former Master sends a feeling of discontent-ment
But another familiar yet unfamiliar is growing to content with contentment
It’s me in you vise versa
I know who I am now!
Flesh Master- Master no more
I step in the spot of the sight my sight was led to saw it was my Genesis- formerly inhabited by me as I deserted her to see where my mistress would lead.
Oh I see, so it’s this that leads to my intended destiny slash satisfaction
Now standing like never before I saw in a distance that illusive spot, ugly and raw
“But my mistress lead me to it” I once would have said, now knowing it was my desire-her ammo now dead
All territory not conquered her persistence is key, she will come around again and brush by me
Her existence allowed by her enemy slash superior
Her name is the wind and I chased her

Door number one

Author: Melanie Zimmerman

Poem: Door number one

As I look down the hall
I see many doors
Each opening to a different place
As I look at the first
With the lock hard and far too complicated
I walk away
And move to the next
It opens right away
And leads down another corridor
I walk out and rebegin
Going back to the first door
But it still seems too hard
I open door number three
And the room becomes locked and barred
Now I'm stuck in this room I didn't want
I should have tried harder
But instead
I took the easy way out
And now I'm stuck with the worst room
I'm working on the locks and bars
Opening them a little more everyday
Maybe someone else will choose this door
Until then I am locked away
I'll make it back
Someday
But sadly not today
