Two Poems from our Inspirational Poems, Motivational Poetry Collection

You and i

Author: Rebecca Matthews

Poem:
You and i

I alsways wished I could be just like you
Everything you have done, everything you have been
Your problems seemed so few and far between
Always the one to rise above them all
I always wished I could be just like you
Accomplishing anything coming your way
Your success rapidly increasing with every step you take
Sitting on top of the world watching the people below
I always wished I could be just like you
Smiling and laughing every single day
Like a freight train speeding forward
Your life full of joy and happiness to some degree
I always wished I could be just like you
So full of strength, agility and durability
Seeking the undiscovered with great success
Finding a peace and harmony from within
I always wished I could be just like you
So rich in intelligence, courage and stamina
Full of hopes and dreams with attempt of making them reality
Adding a dash of wittiness and humor to taste
I always wished I could be just like you
Enriched with culture, wisdom and variety
Always the one to show others the way
Then one day I realized , I am just like you
For that dad, I thank you !

A Tearful Prayer

Author: Sue Williams

Poem: A Tearful Prayer

Mother's tears slide down her cheeks,
as a valiant life begins to fade.
Blind man gropes his way down street,
as tumors wrack his painful brain.

"There is no work", he heard them say,
"So, I hold this cardboard sign, today".
"Rehab tells you all the facts,
still, a monkey rides my back!"

"My home remains an orphanage,
'til I reach a ripened age".
Children play so silently,
"Daddy's hand did deafen me".

A country's heart will weep, today,
as bitter hatred sweeps their way.
Earth is a mourning place,
looking for a peaceful face.

Every soul I see today,
their pain from them
You'll take,
I pray.
