Foster care

Author: Kelly Wright

Poem:
Foster care

  I walk into a house,
thinking that it was my own.
When I walked in,
I knew that it was not my home.
It just does not feel right.
I may be blind on the inside,
but I can see.
The house smelled like flowers,
compared to my home,
which smells like smoke.
The walls have wallpaper,
compared to the paint on my walls.
There are no stairs.
Then I pause,
because I hear a noise,
then I wake up,
because I am in another foster home!
It's really not fair,
but I love my foster mom,
because I know that she cares.
I go to my room,
and there is wood,
to build a closet.
When I run my hand,
across the wood,
it feels bumpy,
as my dog fluffy.
I have to be careful,
because I could get a splinter,
and those sting,
just like a bee.
The wood is broken,
I can feel it's pain.
The wood is wet,
it shed some tears,
during the heavy rains.
Funny,
because I did too!
This town is so clear,
but it is so dull,
and boring.
The roads are narrow.
The sun is bright.
It's a small town,
and I go to Sandwich High.
As I look out my window,
I can see all the trees,
there are three,
in my yard.
It's hard to be a teenager,
in another foster home.
I go to my bed,
and lay down my head.
My heart is depressed.
My brain is confused.
Who do I trust?
Who do I talk too?
What do I say?
I don't want to stay,
but that's ok.
Now it's bedtime.
Goodnight!

Daniel's realm

Author: Sandra Johnston

Poem: Daniel's realm

In Daniel's Realm, there is no confusion or war between logic and heart,
Life seen through his eyes and his very essence penetrates
Deep into the heart and soul; he opens his gates to all who seek
The comfort and protection of his kingdom.......

He welcomes "all" inside of his land, as he knows they will be happy there;
Dwelling in peace, comfort and tranquility, a gift, so precious
Ever growing in unconditional favor; the strength of his character, chivalry
And wisdom inspiring vision of a greater potential within.

He is mortal, who has the transcendental and esoteric spirit, that captures
The heart that draws into his enchanted dimension of time
And space, illuminating the pathway leading fluidly and persuasively
Into his mystical and magical land of wonder.......

He purifies, nourishes, nurtures and sustains soaring to the heights
That mortal man can only dream of obtaining, reaching far
Above and beyond the cosmic universe or human understanding.
He is fertile, shy, relaxed, stable, faithful and true.

He wraps himself around and around like a vaporous cloud, his entity
Enveloping a dreamlike state of rapture, contentment and
Peaceful surrender to the all powerful nature of the very being of
Existence offering unconditional love and friendship.......

He invokes passion, desire and ecstasy reaching into the innermost
Depths of the soul, knowing the need and providing it, ever
Constant and steadfast in his intentions giving of it so gently with the
Greatest tenderness in his touch, as the touch of velvet.

Flowing freely with abandonment, mortal man cannot see and does not
Possess the ability to comprehend the intricate and perpetual
Eloquence of Daniel's design that he alone created with unending clarity.
He alone rules his domain; he is wisely vigilant.......

He strips away the facade and introduces great joy; he reveals the
Pure essence of truth, the very nature of give and receive.
He is the dreamer of yesterday, the peacemaker and practitioner of today,
The poet of tomorrow and the seer of all future things.

In Daniel's Realm.......
