If one was to assume that
The power of one’s name
Issues from the design of
One’s stake in the game.
Then the lofty and lowly
Reveal their connate status
The courage of our passing
Spins our world on its axis.
The contract of truth
Between predator and prey
Demands fidelity
To its ancient ballet.
Within the multitude
Members find asylum
Subject to appetites
Of a higher phylum.
Dragonfly perched on
My rod with grace
Awaiting your mate
And a tandem embrace.
Damselflies and mayflies
And deerflies you may stalk
All fall victim to the
deadly mosquito hawk.
Your archaic form
Both robust and slim
Survives today
By nature’s whim.
On a hot August day
Your attentions directed
By a feast on the wing
Satisfaction expected.
Did you even notice
The shadow on the wave?
Can you possibly know
The currents you brave?
Live fully today
You’ll be gone next month
Your part in the fray
A mere zillionth.

When All Else Fails Look To Him When You Are Lost And feel Nothing From Within Clear Your Mind Hear His voice He's given us peace Freedom of Choice When All seems hopeless Look To Him He'll replace that void You've Let Go From Within When All Is Gone And You Don't Know Where To Turn He'll Replace all of the pain With Compassion To Learn When All else has failed Look To Him.
