I crawled into our tiny tent, finishing out my day.
I snuggled in my blankets, then prepared my heart to pray.
Reflecting on the day's events, the sights, the sounds, the smells,
I felt as though serenity had filled my very cells.
I saw the natural beauty of mountainous wooded lands
Unscathed, untouched, unmarred by careless human hands.
I heard the notes of music played in pure and perfect tone,
Unmatched by handmade instruments was nature's sound alone.
A tenor crooning in the wind caressing, rain soaked trees,
Sopranos chirping from above as altos hummed through bees.
The bass joined in as distant thunder rolled across the sky.
The harmonizing creek sang sweet her gentle lullaby.
The unpolluted air was clean, refreshing to inhale.
I breathed in deeply every scent creation would unveil.
Serenity had touched me there, unlike she had before
And I thank God for what must be inside of Heaven's door.
